Sleep Support (Telehealth)

Telehealth Sleep Assessment & Support through a neurodiversity-affirming lens.

Karenza works with autistic teens and adults, with support also available for parents and caregivers.

Specialised holistic assessment and support

Sleep support with Karenza is holistic, highly individualised, and recognises sleep as a complex interaction between body, mind, and environment.

Good sleep depends on many factors - including our health, daily routines, thermal comfort, the bedroom environment, sensory supports, mental health, sleep position and movement. We can review these areas to understand what’s helping sleep and where there may be barriers or unmet needs.

Telehealth appointments are available nationally.

Around 80% of autistic people experience sleep difficulties at some point in life, which makes accessible, neuro-affirming sleep support incredibly important for the autistic community.

What’s included:

  1. Block of up to 4 consultations: We’ll work together to understand your sleep, identify factors affecting it, explore your priorities and develop practical, individualised approaches to support your sleep. The number and focus of sessions will depend on your needs and goals.

  2. Individualised follow-up report: Following your sessions, you’ll receive a written summary of the key areas discussed, strategies explored, and recommendations for ongoing support. With your permission, this can be shared with your GP, medical team, therapist or other support professionals to help inform future care.

The Process

Why might I need Sleep Support?

  • To understand how your neurotype impacts sleep

  • To identify current factors affecting sleep (e.g. anxiety, health, pain, demand avoidance, burnout, parenting demands, routines, activities etc)

  • To explore sensory needs related to sleep (e.g. sound/light sensitivity, bedding, movement etc)

  • To review thermal comfort and temperature regulation

  • To identify environmental adjustments that may support sleep

  • Identify practical ways to increase sleep drive so you can fall asleep and stay asleep more easily

  • Identify ways to reduce alertness and anxiety at bedtime and overnight

  • To explore expectations around sleep and what “good sleep” means to you

  • To support better mental health, physical health, energy and daily functioning
